I can’t picture someone thinking about me before they fall asleep, or telling their friends about me. I can’t picture anyone getting butterflies because I said hi to them, or even just looked at them. I can’t picture someone smiling at the computer screen or their cell phones when we’re talking.

Why would they? I’m just me

I’ve always thought this. Not in a woe-is-so-like-totally-me kind of way, just in a bewildered kind of way, I suppose. I just kinda feel like the kid that gets picked last in gym class flag football but I never really notice because I’m looking for animals in the clouds or braiding blades of grass. But every once in awhile, there’s a loud commotion on the field as everyone’s highfiving or dancing in the endzone and I look over and it’s like

“Man. Football is such a weird sport. I wanna play.”
